Method of Increasing Amount of Insulin Produced and/or Secreted by Insulin-producing Cell
Using this technologies, we want to provide a novel method for insulin-secreting cells which can be applied for islet transplantation.
Two hundred million people worldwide suffered from diabetes in 2003. The incidence is rapidly increasing. Islet transplantation is potentially a very useful therapy for diabetes. However, the rack of transplantable islet cells is a crucial limitation. Our novel method has an possibility to decrease the limitation.
